2013 marked Huna Totem Corporation’s 40th Anniversary! In celebration of this event, the Board of Directors approved the commission of a commemorative piece. We were excited about the high caliber of submissions that were received. In the final stages, it was determined that one proposal was in line with the 40th Anniversary Theme, Haa léelk’u haas yáagu yikt haa shukáadei yaan tukóox, In our grandfather’s canoe, we are traveling into the future, was submitted by an able and experienced artist, and also met the demanding timeline for its creation.
